Manama, Bahrain – The National Communication Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain announced today, Sunday, that the Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 13 drones that targeted the Kingdom’s airspace during the past 24 hours.
This announcement is based on the latest reports issued by the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force. It underscores the high level of readiness and constant vigilance of the defense systems in protecting national sovereignty and citizens.
Results of countering Iranian attacks
The center revealed in a comprehensive statistical update that the total number of hostile targets intercepted and destroyed since the start of the latest Iranian escalation has risen to 188 missiles and 466 drones. These figures reflect the scale of the aerial attacks the Kingdom is facing. In contrast, the effectiveness of Bahrain’s air defense system is highlighted, as it continues to operate efficiently to protect vital installations and residential areas against cross-border threats.
Targeting the “Jebek” company and controlling the damage
On the ground, the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) confirmed earlier this morning that several of its operational units were attacked by Iranian drones. This resulted in a small fire at those units.
In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the company explained that firefighting and emergency teams were able to fully control and extinguish the fire without any casualties. Technical teams are currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the material damage to ensure the resumption of normal operations as quickly as possible.
Calls for national responsibility and accuracy
For its part, the National Communication Centre reiterated its call to citizens and residents to follow the guidelines issued by the relevant authorities and to exercise the utmost caution.
The Centre stressed the importance of verifying information and obtaining news only from official sources. It also warned against circulating rumors or unverified information that could cause confusion. This contributes to strengthening the home front and national awareness under the current circumstances.
Manama remains on full defensive alert. The military leadership has affirmed that the security of the Kingdom is a red line that cannot be crossed.
