Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli military announced on Tuesday its full readiness to continue and expand its military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran in the coming weeks. It also confirmed that it possesses the necessary logistical and human resources to complete the target bank drawn up by the political leadership. In a press briefing, Nadav Shoshani, the IDF’s international spokesperson, stated that the armed forces have developed operational plans extending for several more weeks of direct confrontation. Shoshani added, “We are fully prepared to continue the military operation; we have the identified targets, sufficient ammunition, and the manpower ready to execute them.” However, the military spokesperson emphasized that the final decision regarding the continuation or timing of the war remains subject to the assessments and directives of the political leadership in Tel Aviv.
These military statements come in the wake of a prominent media appearance by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu asserted that the war against Iran had achieved significant strategic gains. In an interview with the conservative American news channel Newsmax on Monday, Netanyahu revealed that the military operations were “certainly more than halfway” toward achieving their ultimate objectives.
Despite refusing to provide a specific timeline for ending the conflict, Netanyahu clarified that the “halfway point” he referred to pertains to “achieving strategic objectives” and destroying enemy capabilities. However, he emphasized that this does not necessarily mean the war is halfway through. These statements reflect the Israeli government’s determination to proceed with undermining Iran’s military infrastructure, especially given the absence of any signs of diplomatic de-escalation.
Observers believe that the timing of Netanyahu’s statements, coinciding with the military spokesperson’s assertions, signals a new phase of escalation. Through this, Israel aims to completely deplete Iranian capabilities. With the ongoing mobilization and operations, the region remains on tenterhooks, awaiting developments in the coming weeks. This is especially true given the Israeli military’s announcement that its “target bank” still contains many vital sites that have yet to be struck.
