Beirut, Lebanon – Hezbollah announced that it had shelled the Israeli settlement of Doviv and the Ghajar military post, as well as the Shomera military base in northern Israel, in an escalation that further heightens tensions on the Lebanese-Israeli border.
According to statements issued by the party, the military operations were in response to what it described as “continuous attacks and violations of Lebanese sovereignty.” Hezbollah confirmed that the strikes were precise and targeted specific military sites.
This announcement comes amid a state of high alert for Israeli forces in the north of the country. Additional reinforcements have been deployed and defenses have been bolstered along the border with Lebanon.
Analysts suggest that this escalation reflects increasing regional pressures. It also reopens the long-simmering issue of the Lebanese-Israeli border, amid fears that the confrontations could escalate further if the attacks and retaliatory military responses continue.
