Beersheba, Israel – Israeli reports indicate that an Iranian missile struck an industrial zone near Beersheba in southern Israel, causing damage to a facility containing hazardous chemicals. This incident comes amid ongoing military escalation between the two sides.
Damage to a sensitive facility
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the missile targeted an industrial site containing highly dangerous chemicals. This raised concerns about potential environmental and health repercussions, especially given the sensitivity of such facilities. Reports also confirmed that parts of the factory sustained damage, but no major disaster occurred.
Limited injury and ruling out serious leak
Police and Magen David Adom paramedics reported that one person sustained minor injuries from the rocket explosion. Later, the initial suspicion of a hazardous material leak at the site was dismissed, which eased public concern.
Security warnings and ongoing escalation
Israeli authorities urged residents to stay away from the site of the incident and to follow safety instructions. They also stressed the need to avoid the area until it is confirmed to be clear of any danger. This attack comes in the context of a missile launch from Iran toward central and southern Israel, part of an ongoing wave of military escalation in the region.
