Tehran, Iran – The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced on Friday that the attack targeting the Arak nuclear reactor resulted in no casualties or any radiation risks to the population.
The organization confirmed that the situation is completely under control within the facility.
Details of the attack on the Arak reactor
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that what it called the “American-Israeli enemy”
carried out attacks on several Iranian industrial facilities, despite prior warnings.
This was part of an ongoing military escalation.
Official sources confirmed that technical teams responded swiftly to the aftermath of the attack.
Furthermore, operations at the facilities continued normally, and no radioactive leaks were detected.
Strikes targeting industrial infrastructure
In contrast, Israeli media reported that the air force carried out airstrikes targeting two of Iran’s largest steel plants.
These sites were described as being linked to the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program.
These strikes are part of a series of tit-for-tat military operations between the two sides,
targeting vital sites and strategic industrial infrastructure.
Tensions escalate in the region
The targeting of the Arak reactor comes amid a broader military escalation between Iran on one side,
and the United States and Israel on the other.
This is occurring amid international concerns about a wider confrontation.
International reports warn that continued exchanges of fire could have serious repercussions for regional security,
especially with the targeting of sensitive facilities such as nuclear sites and industrial infrastructure.
