Amman, Jordan – Jordan strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in deaths and injuries from shrapnel in the capital, Abu Dhabi.
This comes amid escalating security tensions in the region.
Official condemnation and unacceptable escalation
The Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of these attacks,
describing them as a blatant violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and a dangerous escalation
that threatens the security and stability of the region.
Furthermore, it stressed that such actions undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions and further complicate the regional landscape.
Full solidarity with the UAE
The Jordan government expressed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates,
affirming its support in confronting any threats to its security and stability.
Amman also endorsed all measures taken by the UAE to protect its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
This comes within the framework of a shared Arab commitment to preserving regional security.
Details of the victims and calls for calm
The attack resulted in the deaths of two people, one Pakistani and one Indian, and injured a Jordanian citizen,
an Emirati citizen, and another Indian national, due to shrapnel falling in Abu Dhabi.
The Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered its deepest condolences to the families of the victims
and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Ministry also reiterated its call for restraint and prioritizing diplomatic solutions to avoid further escalation,
in order to preserve the security and stability of the region.
