Doha, Qatar – Qatar expressed its strong condemnation of the Iranian attack that resulted in a missile falling on a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahia area of the United Arab Emirates, killing one person, considering the incident a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of the UAE’s sovereignty and a direct threat to the region’s security and stability.
Qatar condemns the attack
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency,
said that the Iranian attack targeting a civilian vehicle constitutes a blatant violation of the UAE’s sovereignty
and reflects a dangerous escalation in the region.
The statement emphasized that targeting civilian areas exacerbates tensions and threatens regional stability,
stressing the need to respect the sovereignty of states and adhere to international law and the principles of relations between states.
Warning against widening the circle of escalation
Doha called on Iran to immediately cease policies that open new fronts and escalate tensions with neighboring countries,
asserting that the continuation of these practices poses a grave threat to the region’s security and stability.
It also urged Tehran to prioritize the interests of the region’s peoples, adhere to the principles of good neighborliness,
and work to de-escalate tensions rather than exacerbate them.
Affirming solidarity with the UAE
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support
for the measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The statement emphasized the importance of concerted regional and international efforts to contain current tensions
and prevent further escalation, thereby preserving security and stability in the region.
