Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, discussed with His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of Jordan, during a phone call, regional developments following the military escalation and its serious repercussions that threaten the security and stability of the region.
During the call, His Majesty condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the UAE consulate in Iraqi Kurdistan.
He stressed that it constitutes a serious violation of international norms and conventions that guarantee full protection for diplomatic missions and their headquarters.
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his thanks to His Majesty King Abdullah II for the support and solidarity he expressed with the UAE.
The two sides stressed the need to work on an immediate cessation of military actions and to give priority to serious dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the various outstanding issues in the region.
This is to avoid further tensions and crises there and to preserve regional security and stability.
