Tehran, Iran – Regional tensions have escalated significantly after the Iranian military announced it had carried out extensive attacks on Israeli air bases in the Al-Bamakim and Ovda regions. Additionally, the headquarters of the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) was targeted in what Iranian officials described as a “decisive response to the ongoing aggression against Iran.”
The Iranian military asserted that the operations followed the detection of Israeli intelligence and military activities that threatened Iranian national security. It further stated that the attacks were executed with high precision using advanced technologies to ensure the targeting of strategic objectives. On the other hand, it emphasized that this was done to minimize collateral damage.
In an official statement, the Iranian military emphasized that these actions fall within the framework of “the legitimate right to self-defense and the protection of the country’s vital interests.” It also warned that any future aggression would be met with a stronger and more strategic response.
Israeli media reported a state of high alert at the targeted sites, with heightened security warnings along the border. Meanwhile, analysts cautioned that this escalation could open the door to a wider conflict in the region, potentially impacting the stability of the Middle East and global energy markets.
These attacks come at a sensitive time, marked by a series of tensions between Iran and Israel. Consequently, the ongoing exchange of threats necessitates careful calculation of any military action. Amidst this, there are concerns that the confrontations could spread to other areas of the Middle East.
