Manama, Bahrain – The Bahrain Defence Force General Command announced on Tuesday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile that was headed towards the Kingdom’s territory. It also confirmed the successful interception operation, stating that there were no damages or casualties.
Intercepting the ballistic missile
The General Command explained in a statement that air defense systems detected the missile immediately after its launch and engaged it according to established military procedures. As a result, it was intercepted and destroyed before reaching its target.
The statement affirmed the readiness of the Bahraini Armed Forces to address any threats targeting the Kingdom’s security and territorial integrity.
Strengthening air defense systems
The statement indicated that the Bahrain Defense Force continues to enhance its defense and technological capabilities, particularly in the field of air defense. This is aimed at countering missile threats and protecting Bahraini airspace.
The military command also emphasized that the armed forces are working around the clock in coordination with security and military agencies to ensure the protection of the country and maintain its security and stability.
