Washington, DC – In a fiery verbal attack reflecting his euphoria over military and political victory, US President Donald Trump declared that Iran had gone from being the region’s “bully” to the “biggest loser” in the Middle East.
In a series of scathing posts on his Truth Social platform, Trump revealed that the Iranian leadership had issued a formal apology to its neighbors,
interpreting this as a tacit declaration of complete surrender under the weight of successive US and Israeli strikes.
A threat of “total destruction” and “certain death”
Trump began his tweets with a strongly worded threat,
emphasizing that military operations were not yet over.
He wrote: “Today, the Islamic Republic will be targeted very hard.
Because of the Iranian regime’s bad behavior, areas and groups
that were not considered targets until now are now under serious consideration for total destruction and certain death.”
He went on to describe the current state of the regime in Tehran as one of disintegration,
saying: “The Islamic Republic is no longer the bully of the Middle East.
It is the loser, and will remain so for decades to come, until it capitulates or, more likely, collapses completely.”
These words reflect the Trump administration’s determination not only
to deter but also to push for structural change in the regime or its complete overthrow.
Behind the scenes of the Iranian apology and the surrender document
In a highly controversial move, the US president asserted that Tehran had already begun
making humiliating concessions previously unheard of in its political lexicon.
Trump stated, “Iran, suffering a crushing defeat, has apologized to its neighbors in the Middle East,
surrendered, and promised never to fire on them again.”
Trump attributed this dramatic shift in Iranian behavior to “brute force,” emphasizing
that this promise was only made because of coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel,
which, he claimed, were aimed at ending Tehran’s attempts to dominate and rule the Middle East by proxy.
Trump boasts of changing history
Trump made no secret of his pride in what he considered a historic achievement, one not seen for centuries.
He wrote, “This is the first time in thousands of years that Iran has been defeated by its neighbors in the Middle East.”
Trump claimed that regional leaders had contacted him to express their gratitude,
saying, “They called and said, ‘Thank you, Mr. President Trump…’ and I said, ‘You’re welcome.'”
The repercussions of the anticipated “collapse”
Trump’s speech comes at a time when Tehran is experiencing leadership turmoil
following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the destruction of vital military infrastructure.
Observers in Washington believe Trump’s remarks are aimed at preempting any Iranian attempts at diplomatic maneuvering,
by cornering the regime into a position of either “unconditional surrender” or “total collapse.”
