Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump said that “Iranians are cheering.” He considered what he described as “the change in the general mood inside Iran” to reflect a desire for a new phase. He added that “Iran’s new leaders want dialogue.”

In remarks reported by US media outlets, Trump explained that what is happening inside Iran represents an opportunity to reshuffle the cards.

He also indicated that Washington is closely monitoring developments.

He emphasized that any negotiating path must guarantee

the security and stability of the region.

He added that “the previous US administration was clear in its position on Tehran.”

He also asserted that political and economic pressures had a direct impact on the calculations of the Iranian leadership, as he put it.

Trump…and intensive diplomatic efforts

Trump’s remarks come at a time of escalating tensions in the region following recent military developments. In this context,

intensive diplomatic efforts are underway to contain the escalation and prevent the situation from spiraling into wider confrontation.

There has been no official comment yet from the Iranian side regarding Trump’s statements.

Observers believe that talk of a “desire for dialogue” may open the door to unannounced moves in the coming period,

especially given the increasing international pressure calling for de-escalation and a resumption of the diplomatic process.
