Washington, DC – Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on Thursday that his country will send military and medical units as part of a new international force to stabilize the Gaza Strip.
The announcement came during the inaugural meeting of the “Peace Council” in Washington, DC, chaired by US President Donald Trump, where Trump announced international pledges of $7 billion in aid to Gaza.
Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan’s participation aims to make an effective contribution to efforts to protect the Gaza Strip and enhance security, within the framework of the planned international force to ensure stability in Gaza, coinciding with international preparations for reconstruction and alleviating the suffering of the Strip’s residents.
Kazakhstan’s participation comes as part of a series of international pledges from Asian and European countries to contribute to the efforts of the Peace Council, which seeks to solidify the ceasefire and achieve long-term stability in the Palestinian territory.
