Cairo, Egypt – The Egyptian Parliament, in its plenary session, approved by a majority vote the President’s letter containing the nominations for the cabinet reshuffle. Furthermore, Parliament played a major role in confirming these appointments.
This followed discussions of the proposed names and the new ministerial portfolios. Moreover, the move comes as part of the ongoing process of forming the government. Parliament continues to support the state’s plans for the coming period.
Rashwan for Information… and Jawhar for sports
The nominations included the selection of Dr. Hussein Eissa as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs,
and Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar as Minister of Health and Population.
Additionally, Dr. Manal Awad was chosen as Minister of Local Development and Environment,
Diaa Rashwan as Minister of Information, and Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir as Minister of Transport.
The nominations also included the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Farid as Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade,
and Counselor Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif as Minister of Justice. Clearly, Parliament is central in these decisions.
Gawhar Nabil was nominated as Minister of Youth and Sports, Hassan Radad as Minister of Labor, and Gihan Zaki as Minister of Culture.
The list also included the nomination of Ahmed Omran as Deputy Minister of Housing for Utilities,
and Samar Mahmoud as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Cooperation.
Additionally, Raafat Hindi was nominated as Minister of Communications, Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh as Minister of Higher Education,
and Major General Salah Suleiman as Minister of State for Military Production. Parliament closely followed all these appointments.
Rostom for Planning.. and Hashem for Industry
Hani Hanna was nominated as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Ahmed Rostom as Minister of Planning,
Khaled Hashem as Minister of Industry, and Randa El-Menshawy as Minister of Housing.
Furthermore, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty was also chosen as Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad.
The nominations also included the appointment of Ambassador Abu Bakr Saleh as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs,
and Walid Abdel-Qawi as Deputy Minister of Housing.
The House of Representatives affirmed that the approval of the cabinet reshuffle comes within the framework of supporting the stability of government work.
Moreover, it enhances the efficiency of executive performance.
This is in line with economic and developmental challenges.
Parliament is expected to remain a key body for oversight and support. It also serves the state’s priorities and strategic plans in the coming phase.
