Tehran, Iran – A senior advisor to the Iranian Chief of Staff, Sardar Hossein Ashtari, confirmed that Iran is equipping itself with modern military equipment in preparation for any potential US attack.
At the same time, he emphasized that the country is not seeking war against any nation.
According to Iranian media, Ashtari stated that the policy and strategy of
the Iranian armed forces is based on a strong response to any aggression.
He added, “We are not seeking war and will not attack any country,
but if a country attacks Iran, we will respond forcefully.”
The military official added that Iran has acquired new equipment
that can be used on the battlefield to force the enemy to retreat.
He affirmed that the defensive capabilities of the armed forces have
witnessed significant development compared to what they were during the 12-day war.
He pointed out that defensive strength constitutes a fundamental deterrent.
He also emphasized that any potential hostile action by adversaries will be met
with a response that is more severe and lethal than in the previous conflict.
In a related development, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces,
emphasized earlier today that any aggression against Iran would have dire consequences,
in an implicit warning to the United States and its allies.
These statements come after a significant round of talks held between Tehran and Washington in Muscat,
the first official discussions since the US strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites
last June during the 12-day war waged by Israel against Iran.
Analysts suggest that these Iranian moves aim to bolster military deterrence
amid escalating regional tensions and potential threats from the United States,
focusing on maintaining stability and deterrence without direct military escalation.
