London, UK – Conservative MP Bob Blackman has renewed his call for the British government to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. He asserted that this step is a necessary move to stand with the aspirations of the Iranian people. In a post on the X platform, which included a video of a speech he delivered in Parliament, Blackman described the IRGC as a “blood-stained organization,” citing its repressive record.
Accountability for violations
Blackman stated that the Revolutionary Guard is responsible for the “brutal murder of 30,000 brave Iranians,” referring to ongoing campaigns of repression and human rights abuses. He called on the British government to stop hesitating and formally designate the Revolutionary Guard as a proscribed terrorist organization. He emphasized that this step would be a direct message of support to the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom and justice. These statements also come at a time of increasing parliamentary pressure in London to take stronger action against the Revolutionary Guard’s activities.
