Tel Aviv, Israel – The commander of the Israeli army’s Northern Command, Major General Rafi Milo, announced that the military’s readiness level has been raised to “maximum.” This comes in anticipation of a possible retaliatory response from the Islamic Republic of Iran should the United States launch a military attack against it.
Israeli Channel 12 quoted Milo as saying that the current state of alert comes amid rapidly evolving developments in the region. It also comes against the backdrop of the recent large-scale US military buildup in the Middle East. He confirmed that the Israeli army is preparing for all possible scenarios. He emphasized that “if the United States decides to attack Iran, Israeli forces will be at their highest level of readiness to confront any potential escalation.”
In a related context, the commander of the Northern Command indicated that the Israeli security establishment is placing particular emphasis on the northern front. He also noted that intelligence monitoring of Hezbollah’s activities in Lebanon is ongoing around the clock. According to Milo, this monitoring aims to assess the likelihood of the group becoming involved in a broader regional confrontation. This could occur as part of a potential Iranian response to any American strike.
These statements come at a time of heightened tension in the region. This coincides with indications of close US-Israeli coordination and an unprecedented US military buildup, raising fears that the confrontation could escalate into a wider regional conflict should the situation erupt.
