Brussels, Belgium – Dr. Camilla Zarita, advisor to The EU and NATO, confirmed that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia have entered a new and crucial phase in the process of ending the war.
She noted that recent meetings have demonstrated the parties’ seriousness in seeking practical solutions to de-escalate the conflict and build trust.
She added that this new phase includes discussing the details of ceasefire mechanisms,
security guarantees, and establishing stable diplomatic channels.
This represents concrete action beyond mere media statements and reflects
the international community’s desire to expedite the process of reaching a peaceful settlement.
She emphasized that the EU and NATO will continue to support
diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue between the two sides,
while closely monitoring any practical steps that lay a solid foundation for future negotiations,
at a time when humanitarian and political pressures are escalating in Ukraine.
The European official’s remarks come amid cautious hopes that this new phase will contribute
to tangible progress that could lead to de-escalation of the conflict and prevent further human and material losses.
