Aden, Yemen – On Friday evening, units of the Southern Armed Forces repelled a large-scale attack launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia in the Al-Thawkhab sector, northwest of Al-Dhale’ province. This was one of the fiercest clashes witnessed on the front in recent times. A field source confirmed that the Houthi militia attempted a “desperate” offensive aimed at advancing towards the front lines in the Sha’ab Ahmed area of the Al-Thawkhab sector, but the vigilance and readiness of the Southern Armed Forces thwarted the attempt from its outset.
The source explained that the clashes erupted directly and violently, employing various types of weapons. Southern forces successfully achieved the element of surprise by targeting the attacking Houthi groups before they reached the front lines, resulting in a large number of casualties among the militia. The source added that the intensity of the fire and the accuracy of the targeting forced the remaining Houthi elements to retreat and flee, leaving behind significant human and material losses. Militia vehicles were seen withdrawing from the battlefield under the strikes of the Southern forces. The source indicated that the Southern Armed Forces maintain complete field control and remain steadfast in their advanced positions, affirming their readiness to repel any new acts of aggression and secure the borders of Al-Dhale’ province from any future Houthi incursions.
