Tel Aviv, Israel – US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, said that the planned US military strike on Iran has been temporarily postponed
due to “the regime’s crackdown on anti-government protests,” while stressing that the operation has not been canceled.
Warning to Tehran
In an interview with Kan Reshet Bet, Huckabee added that the postponement was intended to allow Washington to better assess the internal situation in Iran,
warning Iran to take President Donald Trump’s threats seriously.
The ambassador emphasized that the US threats to Tehran remain valid and credible,
and could be carried out in the near future, citing previous military operations,
including the strike on Fordow, as evidence of the administration’s readiness to use force if necessary.
Israeli Peace Council
In another context, Huckabee addressed the proposed Peace Council,
saying he understood Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s concerns regarding the participation of Turkey and Qatar.
He emphasized that US support for Israel was unwavering
and that the issue of these two countries’ participation would be resolved through dialogue.
In response to a question about the possibility of rebuilding Israeli settlements in northern Gaza,
Huckabee stressed that this was not part of the US peace plan
and that the United States would not demand any steps that might jeopardize Israel’s security
before the Peace Council was officially established and began its work.
