Aden, Yemen – The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarus al-Zubaidi, affirmed that the massive public gatherings witnessed in the southern governorates represent a clear political message to the world.
They also reflect the southern people’s adherence to their legitimate right and free will as the true source of legitimacy.
In a statement published on the “X” platform, al-Zubaidi said that the millions of southerners who turned out confirm that their voice can no longer be ignored or bypassed.
Aspirations of the people of the South
Al-Zubaidi explained that this massive turnout embodies a unified national stance,
represented by support for the political statement and the constitutional declaration.
This adopted path, he asserted, expresses the aspirations of the people of the south to restore their state and contributes to building a future worthy of their sacrifices.
He added that the message sent by the masses was “clear and unambiguous,” reflecting a popular determination to move forward in achieving legitimate national goals.
The head of the Southern Transitional Council indicated that the South has entered
a new phase characterized by steadfastness and unity. He affirmed that the popular will is now a powerful force on the regional and international stage.
And he emphasized the rejection of any solutions or settlements that diminish the rights of
the people of the South or impose an unacceptable reality. He also asserted that the next phase requires national cohesion to confront current political challenges.
Achieving the desired goal
Al-Zubaidi affirmed the Southern Transitional Council leadership’s commitment
to honoring the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the heroes. He stressed the continuation of joint efforts until the desired national goal is achieved.
He stated that the unity of the southern ranks represents the fundamental guarantee for preserving
the gains of the South, and that the popular will will remain the cornerstone upon which the future state will be built.
Al-Zubaidi’s statement comes in the wake of massive demonstrations in several southern cities
in support of the Southern Transitional Council and its political choices.
And this comes amidst rapidly evolving developments in the southern issue at both the regional and international levels.
