Tel Aviv, Israel – Israel’s Channel 12 reported Wednesday evening that the United States will inform Israel of the timing of its operation in Iran hours before it takes place. The channel added, “The moment the American operation begins, the instructions for the Home Front Command will change.” In this context, Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Eli Defrin stated that the army is closely monitoring developments around the clock, emphasizing that they are prepared for any scenario.
In a statement, he said, “In recent days, the Chief of Staff has conducted ongoing assessments of the situation,” adding, “We are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared for any developments. The Chief of Staff has directed that defensive readiness be strengthened in all formations.”
He continued, “I reiterate my request: rely only on official statements issued by the IDF, and avoid spreading rumors that could cause public anxiety. At this stage, there is no change in defense policy.” The spokesperson emphasized that the IDF is prepared and will continue to act responsibly to protect the security of Israelis, explaining that the military will issue updates if any changes occur.
In this context, European officials told Reuters that the United States was likely to launch an attack on Iran within the next 24 hours. The news agency reported that military intervention was expected.
An Israeli source told Reuters that Trump had decided to intervene in the situation in Iran, but the timing and nature of this intervention were still unclear. Meanwhile, the US Navy released footage from the deck of the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, which is en route to the Middle East, on Network X.
The statement said that “the sailors are on high alert and fully prepared as the destroyer transits the Gulf.” The aircraft carrier’s capabilities include cruise missiles, interceptor aircraft, and long-range strike capabilities. Reuters, citing a senior Iranian official, reported that Tehran warned countries in the region that it would target US military bases in those countries if it were attacked by the United States.
