Seoul, South Korea – South Korean authorities today categorically denied any involvement in drone flights over North Korean territory. This comes amid escalating military tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The South Korean Ministry of National Defense stated in an official statement that reports of drone incursions were “misleading and do not reflect any operations carried out by South Korean forces.” It emphasized that Seoul remains committed to a policy of restraint and maintaining stability in the region.
This denial comes amid international concerns that any provocations could lead to an unexpected military confrontation. The United Nations has warned that any violation of North Korean sovereignty could significantly escalate tensions.
Seoul also indicated that it continues to closely monitor its air and sea borders. It emphasized that all military movements are conducted under close supervision and in coordination with its allies to avoid any unwanted escalation.
