Wait until preparations are complete.

Highlights
  • Wait until preparations are complete.
  • Features of the anticipated currency: “A clean and minimalist design”

The bank clarified that the launch is contingent upon the completion of all necessary technical and logistical preparations. It also urged citizens and investors not to be swayed by rumors or to obtain information from unofficial sources. The bank emphasized that all banking transactions and financial services in the country are proceeding as usual without any disruption.

Features of the anticipated currency: “A clean and minimalist design”

These clarifications follow earlier statements by the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Abdul Qader al-Hasriya. He outlined the features of a radical change in the Syrian currency, which will consist of six denominations.

It will be completely free of traditional images and symbols, adopting a “clean and abstract design.” The new design aims to facilitate currency verification and make it more transparent. This aligns with modern global trends in banknote design.

This shift in Syrian monetary policy is a step aimed at modernizing the financial system and facilitating transactions. The Syrian public is anticipating the economic impact of introducing these new currency denominations into the market.
