Tokyo, Japan – Renowned Japanese archaeologist Professor Hiroshi Tanaka expressed his immense joy and deep appreciation after receiving a unique gift from the Egyptian Embassy in the Japanese capital: a cake shaped like a scarab beetle, reflecting the symbolism of ancient Egyptian civilization and its connection to Pharaonic antiquities and art.
Professor Tanaka stated that the cake was not merely a dessert, but “a delicate work of art reflecting the beauty of Egyptian culture and its attention to detail.” He emphasized that the gift added a special touch to his recent visit to the embassy, making him feel closer to Egypt’s ancient civilization despite the geographical distance.
The Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo explained that the cake’s design was intended to honor Japan’s relationship with Egypt in the fields of archaeology and cultural exchange. It also celebrated Professor Tanaka’s achievements in the study of Pharaonic civilization, particularly his discoveries related to the religious and artistic symbols of ancient Egypt.
The occasion attracted the attention of Japanese media. Commentators described it as an example of “high cultural appreciation” and “the distinguished diplomatic relations between Egypt and Japan.” Meanwhile, social media users shared photos of the innovative cake and praised its artistic design.
