Athens, Greece – Storm Byron is racing towards the eastern Mediterranean. Its effects are expected to reach several Middle Eastern countries within the next 24 hours, amid official warnings of extremely volatile weather.

Regional weather reports confirmed that the storm is bringing strong winds that could reach gale force. In addition, it will bring periods of heavy rain. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and a significant drop in temperatures, especially in coastal and higher elevations.

Sources indicated that the low-pressure system accompanying the storm could disrupt maritime traffic. It could also cause high waves in the eastern Mediterranean, prompting maritime authorities to issue warnings to ships and fishing boats.

The relevant authorities urged citizens to follow official weather forecasts. They also advised them to exercise caution while driving and to avoid areas where water has accumulated. The importance of adhering to safety instructions was emphasized.
