This comes after video footage showed the man rapidly approaching
Grande while she was participating in a promotional event.
This was before the guards intervened, restrained him,
and removed him from the stage, to the astonishment of the audience.
Dangerous overtaking
Police confirmed that his behavior constituted “a serious breach of
security measures and an unjustified attack on a guest.”
According to the authorities, the unnamed suspect admitted during
the investigation that he acted out of “extreme admiration”.
However, the court considered his statements a direct threat
to the safety of the artist and the public.
He was sentenced to nine days in prison and to be deported
immediately upon completion of his sentence.
Singapore is known for enforcing strict laws relating to public safety and order.
Especially during public events that host international figures.
Attempted assault
The Interior Ministry stressed that “any attempt to assault
or approach celebrities without authorization will be met with decisive legal action.”
This is with the aim of protecting guests and preventing
any reckless behavior that could endanger lives.
This incident comes at a time when the promotional tours for the film “Wicked:
The Second Part” are gaining global momentum.
Especially with the participation of a selection of Hollywood’s most prominent stars,
including Ariana Grande, who has a wide fan base in Asia.
This incident is expected to reinforce calls for increased security
measures during arts events in the region.
