Cairo, Egypt – The electoral committees abroad witnessed clear order with the start of voting in the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections, as a number of Egyptian ambassadors abroad confirmed that the process was proceeding smoothly and in an orderly manner within Egyptian embassies and consulates around the world.
Ambassador Wael Badawi, Egypt’s ambassador to Turkey, confirmed that the polling station opened early and that the process was running smoothly. In the Philippines, Ambassador Nader Zaki noted a significant turnout since voting began and that the process was proceeding smoothly.
Ambassador Mayada Essam in Zambia stated that work within the committees continued until the end of the first day without any obstacles, while the Egyptian Ambassador in Zimbabwe pointed out the committees’ commitment to the official schedules and the presence of complete organization within the polling stations.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Walid Hajjaj reported that the process had been proceeding smoothly and efficiently since the polling station opened. Meanwhile, in South Sudan, Ambassador Mahmoud Fawzi confirmed that the polling station would close at 5:00 PM due to security concerns, despite the continued influx of voters.
From Myanmar, Ambassador Aya Saad explained that the committee witnessed the participation of members of the diplomatic mission after the vote, with a steady flow of voters. Ambassador Hazem Zaki from Seoul, South Korea, also confirmed that the voting process was proceeding smoothly and in a positive atmosphere.
Ambassador Nabil Habashi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, concluded by praising the efforts made by diplomats abroad and the outstanding organization that characterized the first day of voting.
New Zealand is the first committee, and voting continues until Los Angeles.
Voting for Egyptians abroad began at the New Zealand committee, due to the 11-hour time difference from Cairo, while the Los Angeles committee in the United States is the last committee to close its doors.
Voting will take place on Friday and Saturday at 139 embassies and consulates in 117 countries, as part of the second phase of the parliamentary elections.
In this stage, candidates from 13 governorates, comprising a total of 73 electoral districts, are competing in the external voting. There are 1,316 candidates running as individuals for 141 seats, in addition to the electoral lists in the following sectors:
- Cairo
- Southern and central Delta
- East Delta

The electoral committees abroad continue to receive voters amid widespread praise for the discipline and organization, with the electoral process for the second phase to be completed inside Egypt later according to the timetable announced by the National Elections Authority.
