Kyiv, Ukraine – Investigators from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) conducted a search this morning at the home of businessman Timur Mindych. He is a co-owner of the Kvartal 95 television studio and a close associate of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda, citing law enforcement sources.
The newspaper reported that the search took place in the capital, Kyiv, but Ukrainian authorities have yet to provide any further details. Neither the National Anti-Corruption Bureau nor the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued an official comment on the operation, despite the newspaper’s attempts to obtain a response.
According to previous reports, Ukrainian anti-corruption bodies have been working since last July. They were preparing a formal indictment against Mendych, who is suspected of involvement in illicit financial activities.
The investigation points to possible links between him and an offshore company registered in the British Virgin Islands. This company is believed to have been used for money laundering and is under surveillance by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The newspaper also quoted its sources as saying that authorities had collected documents proving Mendic’s residence in an apartment in Kyiv. This address matches the location of Zelensky’s birthday party five years ago.
The investigation also includes a person known as “Sugarman.” He is likely businessman Mikhailo Tsukerman, whose name has previously been linked to alleged illegal activities at the port of Odessa.
There has been no official comment yet from Mendic or his legal office regarding the search or the charges against him.
