Chile – The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Antofagasta region of Chile on Monday.
The center noted that the earthquake occurred at an average depth of 62 kilometers below the Earth’s surface.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage from the earthquake in the Antofagasta region of northern Chile. It should be noted that this region is known for frequent seismic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
