Gaza, Palestine – The Palestinian Ministry of Health affirmed that the health sector is witnessing rapid and decisive steps towards localizing services and achieving comprehensive reform. This is being done within the framework of a strategy aimed at strengthening health autonomy and improving the quality of medical care for citizens.
The ministry explained that the reform plan includes modernizing the infrastructure of hospitals and health centers, upgrading medical equipment, and training medical and technical staff to the highest standards. This will ensure the provision of comprehensive and advanced healthcare services. It emphasized that localizing healthcare services aims to reduce reliance on foreign sources for medical supplies and advanced technologies, and to enable local hospitals to provide world-class diagnostic and treatment services.
Ministry officials indicated that the new initiatives include digital applications for managing appointments and medical follow-ups. They also encompass advanced prevention programs, as well as enhanced health awareness within the community, all of which contribute to improving the efficiency of the healthcare system and patient satisfaction with the services provided.
Health experts affirmed that these steps represent a strategic shift in the Palestinian medical sector. They lay the foundation for an integrated and sustainable healthcare system capable of addressing future challenges, whether related to chronic diseases, emergencies, or epidemics.
The ministry described this approach as a long-term investment in citizens’ health and a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development. They emphasized that localizing services and comprehensive reform is not merely about improving infrastructure, but rather an integrated approach based on local expertise and reliance on Palestinian capabilities to manage healthcare with high efficiency.
