Berlin, Germany – German authorities announced on Wednesday a decisive step in their efforts to combat extremist Islamist activities, namely the banning of the organization “Muslim Interactive” and the confiscation of its assets.
This decision came after a period of monitoring and escalating controversy surrounding the extremist organization’s calls for action.
Which promotes the establishment of a “caliphate” in Germany.
The ban decision and the government’s stance
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced the ban, stressing that the state would use the full force of the law.
This is to respond to any attempts to threaten the democratic system and the country’s fundamental values.
The minister said in a strongly worded statement: “We will respond with the full force of the law to anyone who calls for a caliphate in our streets.”
He incites hatred against the State of Israel and the Jewish people in an intolerable manner, and he despises the rights of women and minorities.”
The Muslim Interactive (banned) organization was founded in 2020,
The organization attracted attention in early 2024 after staging a massive protest in Hamburg.
Around a thousand people participated in the protest, during which she explicitly called for the establishment of a caliphate in Germany.
Raids and expansion of the investigation
The action was not limited to banning “Muslim Interactive”, but police forces carried out a series of raids and searches.
Which targeted 12 properties in Berlin and the state of Hesse, and 7 properties in Hamburg.
For its part, the Ministry of Interior revealed that investigations are being conducted under the Associations Law,
The same is currently being done to two other Islamist associations, “Generation of Islam” and “Reality of Islam”;
This indicates an expansion of legal prosecutions against extremist activities in the country.
This measure confirms the German government’s determination to use all available legal tools.
This is to protect the constitutional order and democratic values in the face of extremist ideologies.
