Moscow, Russia-The Russian Defense Ministry announced that groups of Ukrainian soldiers besieged in the city of Krasnoarmeysk have begun handing over their weapons and surrendering.

After days of fierce fighting and a tight siege imposed by Russian units on the city located in the Donetsk region.

The ministry stated in its announcement that Russian forces

are in complete control of the city’s entrances and exits.

This prompted many Ukrainian soldiers to throw down

their weapons to avoid further losses.

This comes at a time when Moscow asserts that its military operations

in Donbas are making “steady progress”.

Meanwhile, Kyiv continues to talk about a “tactical repositioning” of its forces in the region.
