Damascus, Syria – On Sunday, November 2, 2025, a violent explosion occurred inside an arms and ammunition depot belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (QASD) in the Hasakah countryside in northeastern Syria.
This led to the outbreak of huge fires and the rising columns of
smoke in the sky of the region, amid a widespread security alert.
Local Syrian media reported that the explosion occurred in one of
the QASD’s military warehouses near the town of Tal Beydar, north of Hasakah.
She added that the sound of the explosion was heard from afar.
Ambulances and fire trucks were seen speeding towards the scene.
Successive explosions
Field sources confirmed that several successive explosions rocked
the warehouse following the first explosion.
It is believed to have been caused by the burning of
a large stockpile of ammunition and missiles.
Initial reports also indicated injuries among QASD members.
The leadership has not yet announced an official death toll or the cause of the accident.
Anonymous targeting
Eyewitnesses explained that the area witnessed a complete
closure of the roads leading to the warehouse.
With the QASD deploying intensive patrols for fear of further bombings.
The cause of the explosion is still unclear, although some sources
suggested it may have been due to a technical malfunction or an unknown drone attack.
Especially in light of the increasing number of unidentified airstrikes
that have been taking place in northeastern Syria recently.
This explosion comes after weeks of escalating security tensions in QASD-controlled areas.
The region experiences occasional attacks on its sites and depots.
