Cairo, Egypt – Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, paid an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that lasted several days.
Several agreements were signed to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
Lieutenant General Khalifa was received upon his departure from Saudi Arabia
by Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces.
He was given an official reception ceremony that included the playing of the national anthems and a review of the guard of honor.
The two sides chaired the closing session of the eleventh meeting of
the Egyptian-Saudi Military Cooperation Committee.
Which addressed ways to support cooperation in the areas of joint training and exchange of expertise.
Military manufacturing, and confronting security challenges in the region.
During his speech, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa emphasized
that Egyptian-Saudi relations are based on solid foundations of brotherhood and strategic integration.
He pointed to the convergence of visions between the two countries in supporting
the pillars of regional security and stability.
For his part, Lieutenant General Al-Ruwaili stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to expand military cooperation with Egypt.
He considered that coordination between the two armies represents a key pillar of joint Arab security.
The meetings concluded with the signing of the minutes of the Joint Military Cooperation Committee.
In the presence of a number of senior armed forces commanders from both sides,
in a new confirmation of the strength of the historical relations between Cairo and Riyadh.
