Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its economic ties with the African continent, particularly in the tourism sector. He stated that the continent is rich with promising growth opportunities that align with the UAE’s vision for the future of global tourism.
This came during His Highness’s reception of guests of the “UAE-Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025,” held in Dubai under the theme “Building Bridges for Sustainable Growth.” The summit was attended by tourism ministers, heads of government bodies, and investors from across the continent.
His Highness emphasized the importance of exchanging visions and ideas to strengthen economic and development partnerships with African countries, particularly in the tourism sector, which is a key pillar for supporting sustainable growth and cultural understanding between peoples. He also praised the continent’s growing role in shaping the future of the global economy, according to WAM.
His Highness said: “Tourism is a major pillar of our national economy and a sector that holds unlimited opportunities for growth. The UAE-Africa partnership has a bright future ahead, based on mutual trust and a shared belief in the value of cooperation in laying the foundations for a prosperous future.”
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was briefed on the summit’s key themes. The summit saw the participation of more than 350 leaders, officials, and investors from the UAE and 53 African countries. Discussions focused on strengthening economic and tourism ties and exploring new opportunities for joint investment in the tourism sector.
African tourism and investment ministers praised the UAE’s pioneering model in the tourism sector. They expressed their appreciation for the country’s comprehensive economic development and significant investments in tourism infrastructure. They also expressed their hope for enhanced cooperation to develop the tourism sector in both Africa and the UAE.
