Tehran, Iran – Major General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, the deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for coordination, revealed new details about the Israeli “Pager” operation. This operation targeted Lebanese Hezbollah and is considered the largest security breach in the party’s history.
In a television interview on Sunday evening, Naqdi explained that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had previously warned Hezbollah against using the pagers used in the Israeli operation and offered alternatives to the locally manufactured Iranian devices.
He pointed out that Hezbollah refused to rely on these Iranian devices despite their lower cost compared to other devices. He said that Hezbollah preferred to use specific technologies in its devices:
“The party preferred to use other devices because they preferred certain technologies, even though the Iranian devices were less expensive.”
“Mosquito Wing”: The Revolutionary Guards confirm the safety of military cities and missiles
In a related development, Major General Naghdi denied reports that Iranian missile sites were damaged during the recent war with Israel. He confirmed that the missiles remained completely intact, without sustaining any damage, even “the size of a mosquito’s wing,” as he put it.
He added that the IRGC’s air defenses were highly effective, shooting down more than 140 enemy drones. This prevented the missiles from reaching their targets.
He noted that the missile units were on full alert from the beginning of the war until its end. The underground infrastructure also played a crucial role in protecting the missile arsenal from any potential damage.
War predictions and severity
Regarding the nature of the war with Israel, Major General Naqdi said, “We expected a war to break out, but we did not expect it to be as intense or as severe as it was.”
These statements come at a time when regional and international circles are still monitoring the repercussions of the recent escalation between Iran and its allies, on the one hand, and Israel, on the other. This is amid speculation about the future of conflicts in the region.
