Dubai, United Arab Emirates – US President Donald Trump stressed that “what was accomplished was great and timely”.
This was from aboard Air Force One, on his way back from the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh to Washington.
He said during a chat with journalists on board an Air Force One plane on Tuesday: “I am not talking about one country, a dual country, or two countries. Rather, I am talking about the reconstruction of Gaza”.
He also considered that what had been accomplished prevented the killing of more innocent people.
“Peace in the Middle East”
Trump said before leaving Egypt on Monday evening, “We succeeded together in what everyone thought was impossible.” Finally, we have peace in the Middle East.”
He also stressed twice that “this agreement will hold.”
Referring to his plan to cease fire in the Gaza Strip and establish peace in the region.
It is noteworthy that the White House had published the “peace document” signed by the leaders of the countries in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Which stressed the need to reach a “permanent peace” between Israel and its neighbors, including the Palestinians.
The leaders also welcomed the progress made in establishing comprehensive and lasting peace arrangements in the Gaza Strip. They emphasized their commitment to the friendly and fruitful relations between Israel and its neighbors in the region. They are committed to “a future of lasting peace”.
This came after Trump participated alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in chairing the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.
Which was attended by 31 leaders of countries and international organizations.
The US President signed the Gaza Agreement document with the leaders of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar in Sharm el-Sheikh. He brokered this agreement, which resulted in a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. It also led to the exchange of all living prisoners held in the Strip for Palestinian prisoners. He described what was achieved as “a great day for the Middle East.”
