El Fasher, North Sudan – The United Nations has renewed its condemnation of the repeated targeting of civilians in El Fasher, North Darfur. It stressed that what is happening there represents a new chapter in the Sudanese tragedy. Moreover, it is a flagrant violation of all international norms and laws. The United Nations condemns the war in El Fasher and calls for an immediate ceasefire.

In a strongly worded statement, the international organization said that reports from the field reveal indiscriminate shelling of residential neighborhoods. The United Nations condemns the war in El Fasher, and records dozens of deaths and injuries. This has resulted in panic and the displacement of thousands.

These families are searching for safe shelter in a city that no longer knows safety.

The United Nations calls for restraint

The United Nations called on all parties to the conflict to implement an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire. It also demanded the opening of humanitarian corridors to allow the entry of aid and medical relief.

She also warned that continued attacks could amount to war crimes, requiring international accountability. The repeated violations in El Fasher represent a major challenge to international law.

In the same context, relief agencies confirmed that the humanitarian situation in El Fasher has become catastrophic by all standards.

There is a near-total collapse of basic services and a shortage of food supplies. This is happening amid a stifling blockade that prevents supplies from arriving.

Today, El Fasher is the most brutal face of the Sudanese war. The United Nations condemns the war in El Fasher and insists on a peaceful solution to the crisis.

It has been transformed from a vibrant urban center into an open arena of violence and suffering. Meanwhile, civilians—children, women, and the elderly—continue to pay the heaviest price for an endless conflict.
