Cairo, Egypt – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the importance of literal implementation of the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement regarding Gaza.

He emphasized that full compliance with the terms of the agreement represents a decisive step toward restoring calm. This creates a suitable environment for reconstruction and halting the cycle of escalation.

An agreement that restored hope for a settlement

Erdogan said in official statements that the recent Sharm el-Sheikh agreement restored hope for a just settlement. This settlement guarantees Palestinian rights and achieves security for all parties.

Pointing out that his country is closely monitoring developments in the situation in coordination with regional and international parties.

The necessity of obligating Israel to abide by its commitments

The Turkish President added that Türkiye supports all efforts aimed at establishing a permanent ceasefire. They are also focused on opening humanitarian corridors to ensure unhindered access for aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.

He believes that the success of the agreement depends on the international community’s will. They must compel Israel to implement its obligations and commitments.

Cairo and Ankara: A Partnership for Stability

Erdogan stressed that regional cooperation between Egypt, Turkey, and the countries of the region has become a crucial element. This cooperation is vital in protecting stability in the Middle East.

Emphasizing that dialogue and mutual understanding are the only way to end the conflict and launch a lasting peace process.

Salute to the Egyptian role

The Turkish President concluded his remarks by praising Egypt’s role. He acknowledged their leading mediation and diplomatic coordination efforts to save lives and stop the bloodshed.

Stressing that Cairo’s actions on this issue represent a model to be emulated in joint Arab action.
