Gaza, Palestine – Hamas security forces killed 32 members of a “gang” in Gaza City, a security official said Monday.
This is in a campaign that began after the ceasefire took effect on Friday.
The official added that six members of the security forces were also killed in the violence.
He said the security operation targeted “one of the dangerous gangs affiliated with a family in Gaza City.
Which resulted in the killing of 32 criminal elements, the injury of 30 others, and the arrest of 24 of them.
All weapons and seized items in the possession of these gangs were also confiscated and handed over to the competent authorities.
The Hamas-run Interior Ministry in the Gaza Strip has deployed security forces in the Strip since the ceasefire.
She said the move aims to prevent a security vacuum that would result in security chaos and looting.
US President Donald Trump called on Hamas to disarm under a plan to end the Gaza war.
However, he pointed out that the movement had received the green light for internal security operations.
He said they wanted to “prevent problems” and added: “We have given them approval for this for some time”.
