Copenhagen, Denmark – About 50 European leaders were invited to a meeting in Copenhagen on Thursday, focusing on the war in Ukraine and European security.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to participate in the seventh summit of the European political community.
Which comes after the meeting of the 27 European Union leaders on Wednesday in Copenhagen as well.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said in a statement that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with European leaders in Copenhagen on Thursday.
The Danish government said Zelensky would address the European Political Group.
It is a gathering of about 50 heads of state and government in Europe. He will also hold a press conference with Frederiksen.
Issues the leaders will discuss include how to strengthen Ukraine, the security situation in Europe, and ways to make the continent safer.
Discussions on European security are also expected to address economic security and the fight against drug trafficking and migration.
The 47 invited guests include all Heads of State and Government of the European Union.
In addition to leaders of countries outside the bloc such as the United Kingdom, Moldova, Ukraine, Switzerland and Georgia. Russia and Belarus were not invited to attend these meetings.
Heads of important European organizations, such as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, were also invited.
