Manchester, Britain – British police said on Thursday that they were dealing with an incident near a synagogue in Manchester, northwestern England.
Police said they received a call after a witness saw a car heading towards a number of people, in addition to a person being stabbed.
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said it was a “serious incident” and advised people to avoid the area.
“At the same time, I stress that the immediate danger appears to have passed,” he told the BBC. He added, “The incident was dealt with effectively by those present at the site and the Greater Manchester Police”.
For her part.. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the shooting of the suspect in the Crumbsall Synagogue attack and did not announce his condition.
The mayor of Greater Manchester said in subsequent media statements: “The suspect in the stabbing incident is believed to have died as a result of his injuries”.
The North West England Ambulance Service also issued a statement confirming that a major accident had occurred in Crumbsall, Manchester.
“Following reports of an accident on Middleton Road in Crumbsall, the service has sent teams to the scene and we are currently assessing the situation and working with other emergency teams. Our priority is to ensure people get the medical help they need as quickly as possible,” she said.
