Munich, Germany – German police confirmed that there was no danger to the public after explosions, gunfire and the closure of a main road in Munich, Germany.

Police and firefighters were deployed in large numbers along the main Lerchenauer Street in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday morning.

A police spokesman said there was currently no danger to the public in the city known for Oktoberfest.

The spokesman said the road was widely closed due to intensive police and fire operations.

Bild newspaper reported hearing explosions and gunfire.

A body and a person with gunshot wounds were also found, but the circumstances are not yet clear.
