Tehran, Iran – The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, stressed that his country will not abide by any foreign orders regarding its nuclear program. This statement came in reference to remarks made by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright. He called for “stopping Iran’s nuclear program.”
“We do not attach any importance to these statements. We will not abide by any party’s orders in this regard,” Eslami said, according to what was reported by the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
Program under international supervision
The Iranian official emphasized that his country’s nuclear energy industry is purely for peaceful purposes. He added that Iran possesses all the necessary technologies to produce the products it needs domestically.
He explained that the Iranian program is being conducted in accordance with international law. It also follows the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The agency closely monitors it. They have found no evidence that it has deviated from its peaceful objectives.
“Unfair” accusations and ongoing pressure
An Islamist pointed out that Iran has been subjected to waves of pressure, threats, sanctions, and even wars and conspiracies for decades. However, it has remained committed to its path. He added, “They accuse us unjustly, while we are fully committed to international standards.”
