Qalibaf: Supplying Hezbollah with missiles is not impossible

Tehran, Iran – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said that supplying Hezbollah with missiles is not impossible.

As he said in a television interview on Wednesday evening, “If I were the leader of Hezbollah, I would wage war on Israel at a depth of 100 and 200 kilometers.”

Qalibaf’s statements come as efforts intensify in Lebanon to limit weapons to the state.

This is amid American efforts aimed at supporting the Lebanese government’s decision to disarm Hezbollah.

Qalibaf explained, “When he says that Hezbollah is more vibrant than ever, he means that from multiple aspects, including beliefs, capabilities, and cohesion, in addition to the material and moral aspects, without that meaning the absence of challenges”.

A process similar to “beger”

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament also made fiery statements.

He stressed that Israel was preparing for an operation similar to Operation Pager, which targeted Hezbollah in Lebanon, against the Iranian missile system.

He stressed that “external parties were able to contaminate some Iranian missile systems”.

He added, “The enemy was able to access some Iranian military chips and electronic equipment, and contaminated some missile systems, but the Iranian authorities discovered the matter”.

He explained, “Operation Pager was scheduled to be carried out on missile systems several years ago, but the authorities discovered the matter and remedied it”.

He also said that after Operation True Promise 1, we noticed malfunctions that appeared after the missile was launched, and we discovered that the enemy could detect them before launch using its space capabilities.

This is in reference to the Iranian attack on April 13, 2024, in response to the Israeli attack that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus at the beginning of the same month.

It is noteworthy that Operation Pager dealt a strong blow to Hezbollah last year.

This happened after Israel booby-trapped thousands of the party’s wireless communication devices and pagers, and blew them up at the same time.

This resulted in the death of dozens of party members and the serious injury of more than three thousand.

The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in the accident at the time, losing one of his eyes and having his fingers cut off.

This operation, which was prepared months or even years ago, according to Israeli allegations, demonstrated the extent of the breach in the ranks of Hezbollah, which later suffered heavy losses, embodied in the assassination of its most prominent leaders.
