Moscow, Russia – The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that its air defense forces destroyed 69 Ukrainian drones last night over several provinces.
“From midnight to 7:00 a.m. Moscow time, 69 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense systems on duty,” the ministry said in a statement.
The statement added: “Drones were destroyed over the territories of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Moscow, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov and the Republic of Crimea provinces”.
Earlier on Monday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that Ukrainian marches targeting the capital had been confronted and thwarted.
Sobyanin said that Russian army air defense systems intercepted and shot down Ukrainian air marches that attempted to attack Moscow.
The mayor wrote on his Telegram channel: “The air defense systems of the Russian Ministry of Defense repelled an attack. The attack was launched by enemy drones that attempted to attack Moscow”.
He pointed out that all relevant emergency services are working at the sites where the marches fell.
