Gaza, Palestine – The Israeli army announced, on Friday, a deepening of its invasion of Gaza City. The massive attack began on August 11 (August) with the aim of controlling it.

The army said in a statement that within the framework of Operation Gideon Vehicles 2, one of its teams began expanding the scope of its operations in and around Gaza City.

He continued: “In addition, another division continues its operations in and around Gaza City. It has deepened its activity in the region”.

He added, “An air force unit assassinated Wassim Mahmoud Youssef Abu al-Khair. He served as deputy head of military intelligence in the Bureij (Central) Battalion of Hamas.”

On the other hand, the Israeli army said that its forces are continuing their operations. They are active in the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

In another context.. On Friday, it was announced that Salah al-Din Street, which connects the north and south of the Gaza Strip, would be closed to traffic.

This came after it was temporarily opened on Wednesday to speed up the process of displacement. Displacement of Palestinians occurred despite the seriousness of the security situation around it.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said on the X platform: “From this moment on, Salah al-Din Road is closed to move south”.

He added: “From this moment on, it is possible to move south via Al-Rashid Street. This is the coastal street linking the north of the Gaza Strip to its south.”

Eyewitnesses reported that the security conditions on this street were dangerous. This prevented Palestinians from using it, especially to flee from the north of the Gaza Strip to its south.

half a million displaced people

The Israeli army also announced on Friday that it estimates the number of displaced people. The number displaced from Gaza City to the southern Palestinian Strip is “480,000” since the end of August (August).

The army spokesman said, “It is estimated that about 480,000” were displaced from the city.

It is noteworthy that Hamas and the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip consider the estimates provided by the Israeli army in this regard for days to be exaggerated.

On August 11 (August), the Israeli army began an attack on Gaza City from the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood (southeast). It was part of an operation later called “Gideon’s Chariots 2”.

The operation included bombing homes using booby-trapped robots, artillery shelling, random shooting, and forced displacement.

The army said on Tuesday that it had launched a “large-scale ground operation” throughout Gaza City.

The operation is being carried out with the participation of regular and reserve forces. These include the 98th, 162nd and 36th Divisions, as part of Operation “Gideon Vehicles 2”.
