Quneitra, Syria – Israeli forces carried out new incursions on Wednesday into the towns of Jabata al-Khashab and Ofania in the northern Quneitra countryside, accompanied by military vehicles loaded with soldiers.
This comes despite ongoing efforts between Syria and Israel to calm tensions in southern Syria and conclude a security agreement.
Searches and deployments were also carried out on some rooftops amid low-flying marches, according to Syrian state television.
4 young men arrested
Israeli forces also arrested four young men from the villages of Khan Arnaba, Jubata al-Khashab, and Ofania during a raid and search campaign that targeted a number of homes.
Note that this is not the first time that Syrian citizens have been arrested in the south of the country by the Israeli army.
Since December 8 (2024), Israel has carried out several incursions into southern Syria, raids, searches, and arrests.
It also penetrated the demilitarized zone for months, exploding the 1978 truce agreement.
Israeli forces also bombed Syrian military assets, and their forces are now 20 kilometers from Damascus.
While the United States began months ago efforts to bring the two sides closer together and push towards concluding an agreement between the two countries that do not establish diplomatic relations between them.
