Moscow, Russia – Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday that allowing North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries to shoot down Russian drones over Ukraine would mean the outbreak of war between the alliance and Russia.

Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel in this regard: “If this matter is serious, implementing Kiev and other provocative idiots’ idea of establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine and the possibility of NATO countries shooting down our drones will mean only one thing, (the outbreak of) war between NATO and Russia”.

The Vice President of the Russian Security Council noted that “the strong European initiative – the Eastern Guard – is ridiculous”.

“This appears to be all that remains of the ‘coalition of the willing,'” he added.

This comes as German Foreign Minister Johann Fadeevol said that pressure on Russia must be increased after recent airspace violations in Poland and incidents in Romania.

Moscow warned that NATO would respond firmly.

“Russia should know: we will always respond,” Vadeevol said in a television interview. We will not allow ourselves to fall under additional military pressure.”

“We will unleash our capabilities, and the economic and political capabilities of the free world are strong,” he added.

Vadivol added that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “testing” the West and shows no interest in ending the war in Ukraine.

“He does not accept any offer of talks,” he added. He clearly does not want to end this war in Ukraine at the moment. It goes beyond that, and we must respond clearly and stand united.”

The German Foreign Minister supported imposing tougher sanctions on Russia.

But he stressed the need to strengthen NATO’s defenses on its eastern border.

Especially air defense systems capable of responding faster.

He pointed to systems currently in place in Greece and Spain that could be redeployed to NATO’s eastern flank.

Marches entered Poland late last Tuesday and early Wednesday during attacks on neighboring Ukraine.

Which prompted the Polish Air Force and NATO forces to try to shoot it down. Other incidents were reported in Poland and Romania on Saturday.
